What Does Giving Back Mean to You?

The following is by Cody Cassady, GuideStar's marketing associate.

At GuideStar we are always striving to do more listening then we do talking, and the last quarter of the year – commonly referred to as the “giving season” – is often a time when nonprofits are top of mind, so we thought might use this time of year to hear from you. To do that, in late 2012 we asked you to share with us what it means for you to give back – your nonprofit’s motivation was for making a difference; why you chose the last quarter of the year to give back; what the “giving season” meant to you. We asked you to share these thoughts in a 15 second (or less) video. Winners would be selected to win copies of our new fundraising guidebook for nonprofits, More Money for More Good, a meeting with our CEO Jacob Harold, or both.

And share you did! We were humbled by your hearts and creativity. And now, after much deliberation, we’re excited to share the winners with you. (drumroll please...)

The first place winner of a 30-minute consultation with GuideStar CEO Jacob Harold and 15 hard copies of More Money for More Good is Cradles to Crayons.

The third place winner of 1 hard copy of More Money for More Good is Mission Education International.

Congratulations to all of our winners and a sincere thank you to everyone who submitted videos! We are going to do as much listening in 2013 as we can, and we encourage you to contact us any time with your thoughts, ideas, and passion. You can leave your comments below or engage with us on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, YouTube, Pinterest, Instagram, Tumblr, LinkedIn, Flickr or SlideShare any time.

We can’t wait to hear from you this year!
