What do you give for?

Giving Season is the most wonderful time of the year, with jingle bells and good cheer.

Giving Season is also the time of year when charities, like you, increase their outreach to donors who generally wait until the holiday season to make gifts--and that just adds to the good cheer, doesn't it? Well this year we want to show that good cheer in a meaningful way. Join us in celebrating nonprofits and their supporters through the #IGive4 photo campaign. Here's how you can participate:

  1. Take a photo of yourself holding a sign that says, "#IGive4 [cause/motivation] [favorite charity]."
  2. Post your photo on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, or Tumblr and use the hashtag #IGive4.

And don't stop there! Show your creativity if want to do something more than a sign. Wear a jacket or a T-shirt showing the nonprofit or cause of your choice and the hashtag #IGive4. If your nonprofit is developing an end-of-year campaign or event, carry a camera and a sign around. Ask supporters to take a photo to become part of the campaign. This simple act can spark a conversation with your supporters as well as adding to the good cheer around. Below are some great examples of people who have already participated - huge thanks to all of them!

And don't forget to check out our new Giving Season Resource Center with tons of information about capitalizing on this time of year. We recommending downloading our tip sheet with 6 steps to ensure effective end-of-year fundraising, in particular. You can check out the full resource center here: http://www.guidestar.org/rxg/give-to-charity/giving-season.aspx.

We look forward to seeing your smiles - and your #IGive4 signs - online soon!
