Thank you to everyone who participated in the Nonprofit Summer Sprint! We’d like to take a moment to congratulate the organization(s) that won each prize.
We’ve rewarded four nonprofits that advanced at least one Seal of Transparency level and five organizations that earned or held a 2019 Platinum Seal between June 19 and 28.
Note: all winners were selected at random from the full list of participants in their events.
Bronze Winner
The New Mexico Art League, a 2019 Bronze Seal holder located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, won a $100 donation from Candid. President Cynthia Rowland said:
“It’s an honor to be recognized by [Candid] as a winner in the Nonprofit Summer Sprint.”
Silver Winner
Angels Journey Home Animal Rescue of Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania, earned a 2019 Silver Seal of Transparency. It’s won a $150 donation from Candid.
Founder Wendi Kraemer stated:
“We are happy to be a winner in the Nonprofit Summer Sprint contest. Our Nonprofit Profile on GuideStar is a great asset to our organization. We will continue to take advantage of it to make our nonprofit stand out and be recognized on a larger scale.”
Gold Winner
Down Syndrome Guild of Greater Kansas City Inc shared its long-term goals and strategies and earned a 2019 Gold Seal of Transparency. It’s won a $250 donation from Candid.
Platinum Winner
Planned PEThood of Duluth Georgia, earned a 2019 Platinum Seal of Transparency by sharing its annual metrics, such as 872 animals rescued in 2018. It’s received a $500 donation from Candid. Development Coordinator Lauren Frost commented:
“Planned PEThood of Georgia is excited to earn a Platinum Seal on our Nonprofit Profile on GuideStar! Nonprofit transparency is vital to showing supporters how their funds are used and why their gifts make a difference. [Candid] helps us share our mission, story, and success with current and potential donors and we are so grateful for their support.”
Bonus Prize Winners
We also gave away five bonus prizes to organizations that earned or already had a 2019 Platinum Seal, GuideStar’s highest form of recognition. Each nonprofit won a GuideStar Pro PDF report on that organization. The report contains advanced analytics, including programs and results, financial trends, verification that the nonprofit can accept tax-deductible donation, and more.

Reading Works Inc., Albuquerque, New Mexico. Board of directors president Margaret Baker said:

Valley Animal Haven & Adoption Center, Lemoore, California. Executive Director, Pam Brasil said:
