Foundation status code displayed in a GuideStar Charity Check PDF report
GuideStar Charity Check reports now include foundation status codes, saving subscribers more time than ever.
For the past few years, the IRS has required private foundations to report grantees' foundation status codes in the foundations' annual Forms 990-PF. Although the IRS spells out the codes in the instructions for completing Form 990-PF, grantmakers have had to derive them from IRS Business Master File information.
Foundation status codes reported on an IRS Form 990-PF
GuideStar Charity Check now does this work for subscribers. Both the preview and PDF reports show a nonprofit's foundation status code. In cases where this information cannot be provided, the reports clearly indicate that it is not available.
Note that foundation status code is not available
Finally, the PDF report now includes two new source notes, the first related to the foundation status codes, the second to data from the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). Each note links to more information.
